Giving Back

ESJA and Giving to Others

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Pablo Picasso

We understand that it’s a privilege to be able to support and give to others, so our aim is to create a community of women who not only value the importance of personal growth and spirituality for themselves, but who also have this in mind for others.

We have chosen to donate $5 per membership subscription towards the Ballina Domestic Violence Liaison Committee and Rafiki Mwema. Both of these charities align with our mission: to empower women and girls to live their best lives for themselves, as well as for those around them.

The Ballina Domestic Violence Liaison Committee

This local charity aims to both increase the community’s awareness about domestic and family violence – by working collaboratively across government and non-government sectors to activate a whole-of-community response to violence – and to increase effective support for women and children experiencing or impacted by violence.

Rafiki Mwema

Rafiki Mwema means “loyal friend”. As an organisation Rafiki Mwema works with families, in the communities, with schools, churches, villages, and with government officials in Kenya, to ensure the cycle of abuse is broken and that children are given the chance to live as children should.

Rafiki Mwema is totally committed to supporting the children who have experienced things that we could not even imagine – things that many adults choose to turn a blind eye to. Rafiki Mwema assists children to heal their trauma and grow to love, be loved and become safe and loving adults.
